Artificial Grass FAQ

Q: Is artificial turf safe for my children?

A: All ARTURF artificial grasses are proven safe for children and are great for play areas, no harmful materials included.

Q: Is synthetic grass environment-friendly?

A: Yes. After all these years, no reports regarding its negative impact on the environment have been found out. Artificial grass is eco-friendly. You are not required to spread any pesticide or chemicals to keep the grass growing, no watering needed, therefore, protecting the environment in a good way.

Q: Will my artificial grass look fake?

A: It is FAKE grass but will NOT look fake. Instead, as one of the leading artificial grass manufacturers, we have been working for years to come up with products that look and feel like real grass. Now our products are never looked and felt more natural. They are as good as real grass.

Q: How long does synthetic turf last before it has to be replaced?

A: This depends upon the application of course and how much use the synthetic turf has to withstand. Our turf products are delivered with a 6-8 years UV-resistance and wear-resistance warranty but with proper care and maintenance. The expected lifespan will be longer than our warranty.

Q: How hot does an artificial lawn get in the summer?

A: An artificial turf can get hot in the summer, depending on the infill used. Generally speaking, the temperature on artificial grass is higher than it is on natural grass. Silica sands are light-colored, reflect heat, and cool down your lawn. More details can be found on article Head and Artificial Grass.

Q: Does artificial grass drain well?

A: Our turf products are water-permeable and drain water fast. Please note you should make sure the base drain well first.

Q: If we use synthetic turf for a soccer pitch, is it more difficult to play on? and can we use normal football boots?

A: Our football artificial grass system (Infilled or Non-infill) offers similar behaviors as natural turf (ball to the surface, the ball to player and player to the surface). Yes, normal football boots can be used on all sand-rubber infilled soccer pitches.

Q: What about installation?

A: We always recommend hiring a professional artificial grass installer to do the job for you. It will save time, and ensure the result and performance.

For some smaller projects such as five-a-side football fields, home gardens, if you can not find a professional installer locally, or if you are a handy DIYer, you can do some research for the installation and install the artificial grass by yourself. Q: What’s ‘infill’ and do I need infill for my grass?

A: Infill are grains that are installed between the yarn, resting on the backing, usually only slightly visible, but it is a very important part of the artificial grass system. The most common infill materials are silica sand and rubber granules. Proper infill quantity will ensure the performance of the product.

In most cases, you need to install infill materials into your artificial grass. Further reading: Infill Or Non-infill Artificial Grass, Which Is Better?

Q: What about maintenance?

A: There is very little to do to maintain a synthetic turf surface. The main thing is regular brushing to keep dirt and leaves off. Whether it’s a sports pitch or a back garden that’s involved, the costs involved are minimal compared to the maintenance required to natural turf surfaces.
